How to Make Gel Candles
Gel candles' demands seem to grow beyond beliefs. Compared with the regular candle wax it works extremely the same as it burns however made in a different manner.It is true that both wax candles and gel candles come from oil. But gel candle consists of 5%polymer resin and 95% oil mineral. As the resin powder starts to blend by means of mineral oil it simply convert from liquid to a solid form. The density of the gel wax come up to three different phases: low, medium and high density. Density varies directly on the amount of fragrance that the gel has. As it becomes denser the amount of fragrance it can hold increases too. In addition to that, the thicker the gel the more likely it holds the decorations contained by the candle, the longer it takes for it to set and the tougher it is to transfer into the mold.Making candles using regular wax has the same procedure with making the gel candles. The process of dissolving the wax first and placing it to the mold to parch are just the same. The only thing that made it quite different is that on the equipments or instruments and the procedures it used. Candle wax melted by means of double boiler while gel wax melted by multi cooker. It is not advisable to melt the gel candle to double boiler because it will take too long to melt. Multi cooker looks similar to deep fryer that is characteristically non-stick covering metal. It contains split heating element that has temperature dial for you to make sure that it gets the right amount of temperature to melt the gel. Even though multi cooker has a dial temperature on it, using of separate thermometer is also an excellent idea to ensure that it receives the proper amount of temperature. You have to be careful in stirring the gel wax, its either you use metal or plastic rod that cannot be easily broken. It is not wise to use wooded stirrer because it can append foam to the gel wax. Keep in mind that gel wax candle is flammable so the presence of fire extinguisher nearby is compulsory.Using of dyes for your gel candles to make it eye-catching is possible. To maintain the translucent effects of the gel candle the use of liquid candle dye is highly recommended. You just need a little amount of dye to transform its color at times small amount of dye are too much. Using of other types of dyes like clothing dye, soap dye, food color, or even crayon in your gel candle is not applicable, because it is not specifically made for candles and it may cause the candle not to burn right.Having the right understanding on how to create gel candles seems really not a tough task. You can apply your creativity and imagination to come up with the wonderful result in creating gel candle. The good craze concerning gel candles is by directly placing the decorations straight on wax so it will float into the candle. Compared with the candle wax, candles that are made up of gel cannot easily be burned up so it will last longer. Candle gel is also one of the best options as personalize gift for your special someone.
